Wooden Furniture Refinishing
The building of wooden furniture is an age-old craft, as is the process of refinishing it. It might look like a fun DIY project, but for a job done right that will last for years to come, rely on the ADS Kitchen, Bath and Home Improvement team and our lengthy experience in the industry.
Every piece of furniture we approach, is approached and finished with care and precision you’ll only find from people this passionate about what we do. With a process perfected over time, we pride ourselves in leaving any family heirlooms or newly acquired antiques in like-new condition. Or better!
Why You Don’t Need New Furniture
It can be tempting to purchase new furniture, but if you have an antique worth finishing, it’s just not necessary. When people say things just aren’t made the way they used to be, furniture falls into that category.
Eco-Friendly
When it comes to refinishing vs. new, refinishing has been scientifically proven to take 1000 times less carbon dioxide than buying new!
Unique
Your antique furniture won’t have many others like it out there like it. Make it even more unique with a new shade of stain or upholstery.
Quality
Don’t buy from that affordable big box store—update your antique and it will guaranteed last longer than the build-it-yourself option that comes in a flat-packed box.
Affordable
If you want high-quality wooden furniture, be prepared to pay double than it would take to refinish an older piece.
The Process
The majority of antique piece of wooden furniture can be refinished. The only time we would advise against it is if it is quite old and we’re concerned about ruining its value as a historical piece.
While furniture restoration is our passion, at ADS Kitchen, Bath and Home Improvement we also pride ourselves in our exceptional customer service.
Our process begins the second we pick up the phone. We will arrange a visit to the location your furniture is being stored and assess the project. Shortly after, you’ll receive a free estimate.
Following this, we will pick up your furniture, take it to our shop and proceed with the wood restoration.
Should any problems arise, you’ll be contacted immediately so we can figure out the best course of action together.
We’re not satisfied until you are—upon completion, we’ll wait to hear your opinion, and should you need any additional work done, we’ll follow through.
Helpful Tips
Until you’re ready to proceed with your furniture restoration, or if you’re looking for the best way to keep it in prime condition, we have a few up-front tips for you.
- Avoid damp environments so the wood doesn’t warp.
- Keep your furniture out of direct sunlight so as not to ruin the finish.
- Always move furniture with extra padding if it does need to change location.
- Keep it clean, but use a soft cloth so scratches don’t occur.
